At On the Perch Bird Park, we proudly strive to provide an accessible nature experience for all our visitors. The bird park provides two accessible parking spaces at the front entrance. Within the entry building, a gently sloped floor greets visitors, while the exit to the bird park has a slight ramp. The bird park is virtually level with only a very slight gradient in some areas and the majority of pathways are either paved or hard packed granite. Entrance doors to our accessible aviaries are wide enough for a mobility scooter or electric wheelchair and within our kiosk area, powerpoints are available for charging. Inside, the visual and audible sensations of hundreds of birds can be enjoyed by all, while our interpretative signs are black arial text on a white background and written in plain English.
An accessible toilet is provided, and is about 60 metres from the kiosk and retail shop near our Southern Cassowary exhibit.
We acknowledge and support the valuable contribution of carers in our community (whether you have a companion card or not) and provide free entry to any carer needed to support a visitor with disability.
