Breeding success in the Asia-Pacific Walk-in aviary

Keep your eyes peeled for nests of the White-breasted Ground Dove, a native from Papua New Guinea, in our Asia-Pacific Walk-in aviary. Some chicks are nearly ready to leave their clumsy nests. Watch for them on the ground amongst the vegetation. Photo by Keeper Holly.

Our sixth Bush Stone Curlew chick is doing well

Its been just over two years since we opened, and our sixth Bush Stone Curlew chick is doing great. At nearly three weeks of age, ‘Little Chicken’ as he is affectionally known by keepers, is showing to the public in the Inland Australia Walk-in aviary. In a few weeks, he almost be the size of his parents, George and Mildred.
